Used Home School Books
Used home school books can be a great way to outfit your classroom at a fraction of the price.  Brand new curriculums and books can be very pricey, so if you are budget minded, read on for places to find those books you need at a price your wallet can handle!

Ebay is a great place to find used home school books at great prices.  If you haven't already registered to become a member, do so!  It is free to register and you can start bidding right away.  Things to be aware of though include checking listings for method of payment and shipping costs.  These two things can cause problems for sellers and bidders alike.  PayPal is one of the most used payment methods on eBay auctions, so consider getting one to make paying your seller promptly.  Luckily, many sellers also accept money orders and occasionally, personal checks.  Always check the shipping method and related costs- they can turn an otherwise reasonable auction into a pricey one, which is what you are trying to avoid.  Savvy sellers ship used books via Media Mail (in the U.S.) to reduce costs to consumers.

Alibris Books is another place to find used home school books and curriculum packages.  Registration on this site is also free.  Payments can be made by credit card on their secure server.  Alibris utilizes a network of used book sellers to generate their inventory- items will be shipped from the individual seller.  Most orders are shipped promptly and returns are fairly easy.

Amazon.com is also a place to find used home school books at greatly reduced prices.  Used book sellers can set up a store front on Amazon.com to sell their merchandise.  The listings of available books can be found by using the search item function on the website.  Payment is through Amazon's secure server and returns are easy as well.

ABE books is yet another place to find used books.  While you may not find curriculum packages on this website you can certainly find many textbooks and other school books here at reasonable prices.  Shipping prices are usually in line with other booksellers and returns can be done with ease.  Payments can be done on their server or you can contact the seller to set up a payment arrangement directly, either money order or personal check.

Other reseller sites can be found on the Internet by using keyword searches such as 'used homeschool books' or 'used homeschool curriculum.'  Don't forget to check with home school groups in your area to find out if they have a book sale or a place to post a wanted list.  With fall just around the corner, start shopping now for those used home school books to get the best prices!
