Lesson Plans
Chances are that if you are a homeschooling parent you have had to prepare lesson plans for your children.  Although many parents purchase pre-made curriculums for their homeschools each year, many parents still create their own lesson plans.  The majority of those that do create their own have been homeschooling for a few years.

If you are purchasing your lesson plans the plans generally fall into two categories: those with complete lesson plans, an activity guide and an answer key and those that have outlines of lesson plans.  If you just have an outline you will need to flesh it out with activities.  This calls for someone who has some experiencing scheduling their child's homeschool already.  If you are one of the newbie parents you may want to purchase a pre-made complete curriculum package- all you will need to do is schedule your child's school around the rest of the families activities.

Parents that have the state dictating their curriculum will still need to come up with the lesson plans as this is what teachers in the classroom do.  Homeschool teachers are adept at finding information at the library and on the Internet.  The Internet is a great resource for teachers.  Information on just about any subject, including sample lesson plans can be found on the Internet.  There are also many books written on homeschooling and you can expect more to be written as the practice gains in popularity.

Be as creative as you want to be with lesson plans.  Show your enthusiasm for subjects you love by finding ways to communicate the information to your child.  After all, no one knows best how to teach your child than you do.
